The first village fete after the pandemic and the first organised by the new Sports and Social Club headed by Clive Schofield was a great success with much fun had by all. The weather was better than expected and there was a great turnout.
There were lots of activities including a bouncy castle, chair-o-plane, pony rides, vintage tractors to view, face painting, beat the goalie, skittles, mini golf, throw the wellie and face painting.
The stalls included the white elephant stall, plants from the gardening club members, the human tumblr, delicious teas and cakes and the bottle school sold out in the first two hours. The BBQ was a great success and special mention for the 8kg of onions that Mark and his mum caramelised for the delicious burgers provided by Sumblers.
The bar was popular with Ramsbury brewery providing their ale at cost and the afternoon’s activities ended with the popular raffle. In the evening the BBQ reopened and music and open mike entertainment was enjoyed until the rain later on.
Thanks to all the organisers and everyone who attended and enjoyed themselves. The takings will be counted and will ensure our sports field can carry on supporting the youth sport of the area.
